The 18th meeting of EUROSAI ITWG and a seminar on the efficiency of e-services

This year’s meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on Information Technology (ITWG) took place between 22 and 24 September 2025 at the headquarters of the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of the Czech Republic in Prague. The seminar was titled Implementing Seamless E-Services: Big Challenges and Small Victories which was also the main topic of the event. Among the participants were the representatives of the European and the Arab supreme audit institutions (EUROSAI and ARABOSAI) as well as other speakers from public and private sector who discussed various aspects of the efficient, user-focused digital public services in public as well as in private sector.

Representatives from different SAIs presented the audits they implemented and that refer to the concerned topic and pointed out valuable experiences as well as challenges. Their presentations addressed also the future of public e-services and audit programmes applicable to auditing of those services. Furthermore, the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia actively participated in the event, namely mag. Maja Hmelak, the auditor specialised in the audits of information systems, shared the experience of SAI Slovenia with auditing e-services in the field of judiciary, healthcare and social security. In addition to the participants of the live event in Prague, there were also several online participants from Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

There was also a side event organised in cooperation with the ITWG Secretariat, supreme audit institutions of Estonia and the Netherlands and the representatives of ARABOSAI, namely the meeting of the editorial board for the preparation of a new online training about auditing artificial intelligence. Among the participants of the meeting was also Alenka Blas, Principal Auditor at the Slovenian Court of Audit. The proposed content of the foreseen training will be presented at the beginning of 2026.
