Reception of the President of the Court of Audit Jana Ahčin by the President of the National Assembly mag. Urška Klakočar Zupančič

On 19 September 2022, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia mag. Urška Klakočar Zupančič welcomed the President of the Court of Audit Jana Ahčin. The purpose of the meeting was to present the most important aspects of the work of the Court of Audit with the stress on the possibilities and importance of the future cooperation of the two institutions.

The President of the National Assembly underlined the importance of the Court of Audit as an independent institution. They discussed setting up better cooperation between the institutions and initiatives for the implementation of audits that can be proposed to the Court of Audit by the National Assembly.

The President of the Court of Audit favoured the amendments of the Court of Audit Act that would enable the procedures to be shorter and more efficient, furthermore the scope of the auditees would be wider too. She also expressed a wish to better cooperate with working bodies of the National Assembly since she believes such good relations are of key importance. Namely, in relation to the annual work programme which is developed by the Court of Audit considering initiatives of the National Assembly and also when carrying out an in-depth discussions of the issued audit reports.

Mag. Urška Klakočar Zupančič agreed that well-functioning cooperation with the Court of Audit remains of the utmost importance for the National Assembly and highlighted the commitment to the independence of all supervisory bodies.
