The President of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia informed the President of the Republic of Slovenia on the termination of the term of office of mag. Jorg Kristijan Petrovič, First Deputy President of the Court of Audit.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia published a call for the registration of possible candidates for the Member of the Court of Audit in the Official Gazette of the RS, No 131 as of 20 August 2021. The time limit for the registration of possible candidates shall commence on the date of the call publication and shall expire on 4 October 2021 at 3 pm.
All are invited to submit their proposed candidatures, whereby the registration must be substantiated, attached must be a written statement by the registered possible candidate declaring that he/she is willing to accept the candidature as well as evidence of compliance with the conditions. Prior to selecting a candidate for the First Deputy President of the Court of Audit, the President of the Republic of Slovenia shall consult with the leaders of the political groups at the National Assembly and make an effort to build up a solid support for the most suitable candidate who meets the stringent professional criteria. The President of the Republic of Slovenia shall submit the proposal to the National Assembly within 30 days after the expiry of the candidature registration period. The National Assembly is obliged to vote on the proposed candidate for the Member of the Court of Audit within 30 days after the submission of the proposal. Voting is by secret ballot. The proposed candidate is elected if the majority of votes of all deputies are cast in his/her favour.
After the submission of the proposal, the proposed candidate for the First Deputy President of the Court of Audit shall attend the session at the National Assembly to publicly present themself.
