National Assembly appoints mag. Aleksej Šinigoj Second Deputy President of the Court of Audit

On 28 March 2025, the National Assembly decided on the candidate for the Second Deputy President of the Court of Audit, mag. Aleksej Šinigoj. The voting was taken by secret ballot and mag. Aleksej Šinigoj received majority votes, namely 84, and was thus elected.

Upon taking the oath, he pointed out that high support of the Members of the Parliament can be understood as their expression of trust and also as an obligation and responsibility for professional, objective and independent work both of himself personally and the Court of Audit as a whole. He believes that together with the outstanding team of colleagues they shall foster the awarded confidence.

Mag. Aleksej Šinigoj graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana in 1999 and obtained Masters degree at the Faculty of Management, University of Primorska in 2016. He started a professional career in private sector in the field of accounting and tax consultancy. Since 2005, he has been serving at the Court of Audit, where he gained experience as an auditor and later as Supreme State Auditor. In 2016 he was appointed Supreme State Auditor for local self-government and in 2022 he was appointed Supreme State Auditor for public utility providers and public companies majority owned by the State or local self-governments. In March 2025, he was elected Second Deputy President of the Court of Audit.

By appointment of the Second Deputy President mag. Aleksej Šinigoj replaced mag. Mojca Planinšek whose term of office terminated on 31 January 2025.
