Supreme Audit Institutions of the V4+2 Group meet every year at the level of Heads to exchange experience and discuss common professional challenges. This year, the main cross-cutting topic of the V4+2 meeting was artificial intelligence and innovation in audit process.
The participants thus discussed quality management and opportunities emerging from artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies that could benefit SAIs in carrying out their work, they also addressed the challenges related to responsible use of AI tools. Moreover, special attention was given to practical experience of individual SAIs.
In her opening speech, the President of the Court of Audit, Jana Ahčin, emphasised the importance of open exchange of experience related to SAIs’ key professional challenges and priorities. She pointed out that audit environment changes due to digitalisation and artificial intelligence, while SAIs’ fundamental principles – independence, objectivity and efficiency – remain unchanged. Ms Ahčin believes that artificial intelligence cannot replace the auditor, it can only significantly increase efficiency.
This year’s V4+2 meeting was also joined by the delegation of SAI Uzbekistan as an observer, thus representing the continuity of the enhanced cooperation between the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia and SAI Uzbekistan after the signing of the memorandum on cooperation in April 2026 in Tashkent. The Head of the Uzbek delegation, dr. Mehriddin Abdullayev, and his colleagues presented several advanced information solutions for the support of audit processes, with the focus on the use of artificial intelligence.
At the conclusion of that meeting, the President of the Court of Audit, Jana Ahčin, symbolically handed over the role of the host country of the next year’s V4+2 meeting to the President of SAI Poland, Mariusz Haładyj. With this gesture, the meeting ended on the note of further networking, exchange of knowledge and cooperation.
