The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the Swiss Federal Audit Office within the mechanism Swiss Contribution to EU-Member States/Cohesion and in collaboration with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) organised the international meeting of auditors concerning the integration and cooperation among the supreme audit institutions (SAI) and internal audit organisations.
The meeting held on 11 and 12 April 2024 in Bern, Switzerland among others presented professional bases and practical examples as well as gave an opportunity for discussions among the participants referred to current manner and scope of the cooperation between external and internal auditors when conducting audit work. They considered future possibilities for additional strengthening of cooperation with the objective to undertake effective and efficient audit work and to reduce the remaining risks in the operations of the public sector.
The meeting was joined by the representatives of SAIs, including the representatives of the SAI Slovenia, as well as internal auditors from the SAIs of Eastern Europe. The main presentations were delivered by the representatives of SAI Switzerland, INTOSAI – IDI, Zürich University of Applied Science and Norwegian Business School.
