On 22 September 2020, the European Court of Auditors (ECA) hosted an online Conference on Ethics and Integrity in Public Administration. The conference focused on the application of ethics and integrity in public administration with the aim of fostering discussion about the ethical policies of the EU institutions and their correlation with public trust in the EU.
The two online sessions of the Conference have covered different aspects of ethics and integrity, including transparency, accountability, public trust, ethical frameworks and rules, and success stories.
The conference, in which also the Court of Audit participated, brought tohether representatives from academia, leading NGOs, the OECD, the European Ombudsman and standard-setters in the audit profession to tackle the ethical challenges public administration is facing and to find out the best and most far-reaching ways of addressing them.
