National Assembly elected Jorg Kristijan Petrovič, MSc, First Deputy President

Jorg Kristijan Petrovič (born 1969 in Ljubljana) graduated in 1996 at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana in the field of Money and Finance. He continued his education with postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana, completing his Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing in 2004.

He started his career at the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia in 1996 as an Assistant Auditor and subsequently in the period from 1999 to 2004 performed the function of an Adviser to the Mayor of the Municipality of Trzin in the field of Finance and Budget.

On 2 November 2004 he was appointed Supreme State Auditor of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, taking over the Department for local self-government auditing. He held his office until 1 March 2006 when he was appointed Supreme State Auditor of the Court of Audit at the Department for auditing state budget, political parties as well as election and referendum campaigns.

He also gained his knowledge and expertise abroad (at the Supreme Audit Institutions of the United Kingdom and Germany) and was a member of various expert working groups (at the Association of Municipalities and Towns of Slovenia, Court of Audit and other expert bodies). He masters English and German.

Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia, proposed Petrovič, MSc, to be elected First Deputy President of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia for a term of nine years. On 1 February 2013, Petrovič, MA, was elected by secret voting at the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, receiving 82 votes.
