Bilateral meeting with Supreme Audit Institution of Austria

On Monday, 28 January 2019, the Head of the SAI Austria, the President of the Slovenian Court of Audit and their representatives attended a bilateral meeting about providing quality work process. The discussions focused on the detailed comparison of the two auditing acts and on the challenges both SAIs came across on the basis of the current legislation, as well as on the powers and responsibilities foreseen therein.

Pointed out were especially the auditing of companies with the majority ownership held by the State and the field of public procurement within the framework of auditing local self-government. Both SAIs pay considerable attention to improvements in the field of ensuring high-quality audit reports in a timely manner and to risk management pertaining to work processes. Given were in-depth presentations of different organisational arrangements and approaches applied in the field of human resources supported by Slovenian and Austrian SAI. Since communication with different stakeholders is part of strategic documents and needs to be rapidly adjusted due to fast-changing social environment, the meeting brought about tangible and innovative solutions. A large part of the debate covered the indicators and objectives within the framework of self-evaluation of the individual SAI. This bilateral meeting contributed to prolific exchange of best practices, information and documents in connection with topical factors affecting work process.
