Signing an agreement between SAI Slovenia and SAI Malta

From 9 to 11 May 2018, there was a bilateral meeting held in Malta, where the President of SAI Slovenia, Tomaž Vesel, and the State Auditor General of SAI Malta, Charles Deguara, signed an agreement on mutual cooperation. The heads of the two SAIs already in September 2017 discussed practical ways of cooperation between SAIs.

Due to similar circumstances, namely both institutions operate in smaller countries of the European Union and they both have similar missions, responsibilities and strive to achieve similar goals, the SAIs reached an agreement on secondments of employees being an opportunity to exchange experience, use of methodologies and procedures and thus share best practices of the SAIs.

The event was participated by two auditors who were seconded to another SAI, namely Mrs Michelle Borg Brincat came to Slovenia in April and Mrs Simona Bevk started her working practice in Malta immediately after the agreement was signed.

Alongside the event, there was a regular annual meeting of Liaison Officers who discussed organisational issues and content of the next Contact Committee meeting, where our Liaison Officer, dr. Dijana Možina Zupanc, was actively participating.
