At the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris there was an annual meeting of the OECD Auditors Alliance and OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum between 23 and 27 March 2026. On behalf of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, the forum was attended by dr. Peter Premrl, Advisor to First Deputy President.
This year’s forum, which was carried out under the slogan The Integrity Advantage: Powering Competitiveness and Prosperity, explored how integrity and anti-corruption efforts, which have been traditionally seen as safeguards, can also serve as engines for economic competitiveness, resilience and sustainable growth.
During preliminary and plenary panels, the speakers discussed challenges posed by organised crime and thereto related corruption, role of artificial intelligence and data analytics in fraud prevention and safeguarding public funds, strengthening integrity in private sector, responsible management in business environment and combat against illicit financial flows.
The meeting of OECD Auditors Alliance was attended by auditors, compliance specialists, and government and civil society representatives active in fight against corruption and strengthening integrity. The event was divided into three thematic sessions.
At the first one titled Strengthening Accountability Ecosystems: Starting with SAI Independence, the participants, drawing from the joint project of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) and OECD, discussed the role and accountability of supreme audit institutions and the conditions required for strengthening their independence.
The second session Follow Up of Audit Recommendations: Communicating Findings that Drive Real Change focused on mechanisms for monitoring audit recommendations and on drawing up findings leading to lasting improvements in practice.
At the third session Measuring Audit Impact and Communicating its Value the speakers from different countries presented practical approaches to measuring and communicating audit impacts to the public with the focus on their long-term impacts.
Alongside the forum, the participants exchanged their experiences and discussed recent challenges faced by supreme audit institutions in the ever more complex environment.
