The Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Cyprus organised a working meeting of the Liaison Officers for International Affairs at the Contact Committee of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the EU and of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) in Larnaca on 29 April 2026. On behalf of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, Advisor to the President and Liaison Officer for International Affairs Boštjan Novak and Klara Jereb from the Cabinet of the President attended the meeting.
The purpose of the annual meeting is to organise a Contact Committee Meeting attended by the heads of the SAIs from the European Union. The meeting was attended also by the representatives of Candidate Countries and Potential Candidate Countries to the European Union and the representatives of joint initiative of the OECD and EU SIGMA. The next Contact Committee Meeting will be held in October 2026 in Paris hosted by SAI France as a chair.
The representatives of the SAI Slovenia used the opportunity to discuss with colleagues from other SAIs the organisation and content of future bilateral meetings and cooperation of the Court of Audit in the forthcoming events within the Contact Committee, EUROSAI and INTOSAI. The event was also an occasion to strengthen cooperation with other SAIs and organisations and to further promote other forms of joint action.
The Liaison Officers for International Affairs among other things engage in coordination of planning of the ECA’s audits in member states, facilitate activities of working groups addressing different audit topics and attend to regular and ongoing exchange of experience and information. Current activities and future scheduled events were also presented during the meeting.
