The Court of Audit continues to participate in the educational project of the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana within the framework of legal clinics, namely on the topics of transparency and integrity in public and private sectors, as well as on the issues of public procurement, concessions and public-private partnerships.
In November 2023, the students involved in the Legal clinic, which includes ten partners from public and private sectors, heard a lecture about transparency and integrity in public and private sectors. On 4 April 2024, Mr Martin Brumec, a representative of the Court of Audit, as part of the theoretical training foreseen under the Legal clinic about public procurement, concessions and public-private partnerships gave a lecture to the students of the Faculty of Law on the role of the Court of Audit in the public procurement system of the Republic of Slovenia and on auditing public procurements, as well as presented interesting audit findings and complex problems faced by the Court of Audit pertaining to the concerned matter.
Legal clinic about public procurements, concessions and public-private partnerships is an extracurricular activity enabling interested students an in-depth theoretical insight into topical and demanding issues regarding public procurements, concessions and public-private partnerships, and providing opportunity to gain practical experience in the concerned field. The objective of the Legal clinic is to raise the level of expert knowledge and to attract additional interest for the field already during the studies.
Within the project of legal clinics, the Court of Audit provides also a practical training for students. One is due to start shortly at the Court of Audit and it will offer a participating student mentoring support and professional guidance in order to better understand the work of the Court of Audit. The emphasis of the training is on the detailed presentation of the fields and cases related to public procurement, concessions and public-private partnerships. At the moment, a practical training is underway at the Court of Audit, namely it hosts a student of Legal clinic on the topic of transparency and integrity in public and private sectors.
