Auditors Alliance and 2024 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum

The annual meeting of the Auditors Alliance and the 2024 Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) took place between 25 and 28 March 2024 at the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France as part of the OECD Integrity Week.

The purpose of the Auditors Alliance Meeting, which was participated by the Second Deputy President of the Slovenian Court of Audit mag. Mojca Planinšek, was the exchange of good practice, practical methodologies, expertise and innovative approaches in order to easily overcome joint challenges and to pursue excellence. Persons responsible for compliance of operations, government representatives, and representatives of civil society engaged in fighting corruption and strengthening integrity presented national and international anti-corruption standards with the aim to improve their applicability at global level and to promote dialogue on major challenges and opportunities among private sector, the government and civil society. Presented was also the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics.

The OECD Global Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum titled Designing our future with integrity was held as part of the OECD Integrity Week. The forum was attended by the representative of the Slovenian Court of Audit Peter Premrl who met with the OECD and other Slovenian and foreign representatives to discuss the challenges the Court of Audit and other institutions face.

In their introductory speeches, high government and non-government representatives emphasised the importance of strengthening integrity, building awareness among employees and combating corruption in business environment. The panel discussions brought forward several topics, including the OECD forecasts about integrity and fighting corruption, influence of artificial intelligence on work of bodies dealing with prevention, detection and investigation of corruption, and risks of new forms of corruption and criminal. Additionally, importance and impact of climate change on the future were mentioned and pointed out were growing pressure on the cornerstones of integrity and significance of investigative journalism in fighting corruption. Moreover, OECD introduced its forecasts and presented public integrity indicators. The OECD Global Forum concluded with the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.
