Presenting audit report at the conference on biodiversity

From 22 to 24 October 2019, a biodiversity conference organised by the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (EUROSAI WGEA) and the European Court of Auditors (ECA) is taking place in Luxembourg.

At this event, the Court of Audit shall present its audit report Efficiency of protection against invasive alien species. Invasive alien species are animals, plants, fungi and microorganisms that pose threat to or have significant negative impacts on biodiversity. They can also cause several other harmful effects, e.g. on health, infrastructure, forestry and agriculture.

The conference has been designed to offer the experts an opportunity to learn about recent European biodiversity trends and policies as well as to discuss the opportunities and challenges of auditing biodiversity. This 17th annual EUROSAI WGEA meeting is also open for discussion over the new Strategic Plan for 2020-2023 and possible joint audits.
