At the end of October 2019, the Court of Audit under TAIEX cooperated in the expert mission of the EU Member States in Skopje in North Macedonia where it presented its experience pertaining to control over the financing of the political parties and election campaigns.
At the expert meeting attended by 24 participants from North Macedonia, two auditors of the Court of Audit presented Political Parties Act and Election and Referendum Campaign Act as well as the process of auditing political parties and election campaigns, contents of the reports submitted by political parties and organisers of the election campaigns, key risks as defined in the detailed audit plans and main findings from the past audits. The participants held a constructive debate aimed at finding proposals for normative solutions and practices on how to provide efficient control over the financing of political parties and election campaigns in North Macedonia.
TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange) is an instrument of the European Union that supports public administrations with regard to the approximation, application and enforcement of EU legislation.
