Signing of the Agreement on Cooperation with the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Poland

On 26 November 2020, the President of the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, Tomaž Vesel, welcomed the President of the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Poland, Marian Banaś, during his official visit to Slovenia. Marian Banaś was appointed new President of the SAI Poland for the period of six years in August 2019.

During the meeting, the Presidents of both SAIs signed the Agreement on Cooperation foreseeing the cooperation pertaining to the exchange of working methods and professional experience in the field of external public auditing in accordance with the aims and principles of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI). The concluded Agreement shall further strengthen the bilateral cooperation relations between the institutions, with the mutual benefits deriving therefrom supporting the development of state audits and enhancing the capacities of the respective SAIs.

On this occasion, the Presidents discussed the implementation of long-term strategies, assuring quality in audit implementation and thereto pertaining deadline-related challenges. The subject of the debate was also the vision regarding the organisational structure of the institutions, the criteria for including different audit fields in the audit programme and the use of modern information technology tools in the audit process. To this end, the Slovenian Court of Audit presented some of its latest audit reports. Considering the current global pandemic situation, the Presidents exchanged the information about the implementation and necessary planning of audits pertaining to epidemiological safety and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
