OECD Auditors Alliance and OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum

OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum took place on 20 March 2019 at the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France. The 2019 Forum focused on the risks and opportunities of new technologies for anti-corruption and integrity. There were several parallel discussions where different experts were looking for advantages and disadvantages of fast-developing technologies. Anonymity in digital environment was identified as a specific element of risk, since it can affect the credibility of the information sources. The Secretary General summarised the event as the exchange of methods providing for digital integrity among all authorised bodies.

On Friday, 22 March 2019, the second annual Meeting of the Auditors Alliance took place, being a unique forum for public sector internal and external auditors to share insights and expertise on their audit practices.  Annual meeting within the OECD gathers the auditors of public sector, provides opportunities for exchange of best practice and overcoming challenges in implementing public sector audits, enables institutional partnerships in the spirit of mutual learning and targeted cooperation that correspond to the needs and skills of auditors and auditees. Last year the first meeting was organised and President Tomaž Vesel was invited as one of the speakers at the constituent meeting. The key topics of this meeting were auditing in an age of digital disruption, strategic audit analytics for safeguarding integrity, impulse speakers and audience insights, innovations in auditing and the use of new technologies, artificial intelligence and automating audit. Along with the representatives of SAIs and other organisations from Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America and Africa there were also representatives of EUMETSAT, SIGMA, Institute of internal auditors and OECD who shared their experience.

The Court of Audit used the opportunity for bilateral meetings with heads of SAIs and other representatives of other institutions and met with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia at the OECD.
