Students of St. Stanislav’s Institution visiting the Court of Audit

The Court of Audit traditionally hosted the 3rd grade students of Diocesan Classical Gymnasium within the framework of the subject Citizenship education aimed at raising awareness of active citizenship and functioning of the Republic of Slovenia in general.

The students were welcomed by First Deputy President, mag. Jorg Kristijan Petrovič, who explained in his presentation that the Court of Audit cannot be categorised within any of the three branches of power, legislative, executive or judicial, as it is an independent state body that controls the use of public funds. They were also presented the powers and the structure of the institution, as well as specifics of certain audits and thereto related audit reports.

At the end of the visit, the students watched the video on the project of urban beekeeping into which the Court of Audit is included. The students thanked with the mug and the jar of honey and in return they received brochures on the beehives on the rooftop of the Court of Audit, explaining that the Court of Audit does not only deal with the audits but also with other issues, warns about global challenges and thereto related trends referring to the use of public funds.
