Within the framework of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI), a EUROSAI Auditing the Response to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic Project Group, led by UK NAO Auditor General, Gareth Davies, and SAI Finland General Auditor, Tytti Yli-Viikari, was formed.
In the introductory webinar for the Heads of SAIs, which took place on 4 June 2020, more than 90 participants from 40 SAIs, including President of the SAI Slovenia, Tomaž Vesel, discussed and exchanged views and experience on audit approaches and opportunities of SAIs regarding the response to the Covid-19 global pandemic. Despite unfavourable circumstances due to the current situation, the Heads pointed out several opportunities important both for the citizens and SAIs, such as to shorten feedback loops and embrace digital tools.
