There was a working meeting held among SAI Liaison Officers of the EU member countries, candidate member countries and potential candidate countries and the ECA. The purpose of the annual meeting is to organise a Contact Committee Meeting attended by the SAI auditor generals within the framework of the EU.
Approved was thus the agenda of the next Contact Committee Meeting which is scheduled for June 2019 in Warsaw. The main topic of the upcoming Contact Committee Meeting in Poland is Digital Europe: Challenges and Opportunities for EU SAIs, which will be debated in two discussions: Challenges of carrying out performance audits related to EU and national programmes in the area of e-Government and cybersecurity, and Challenges of EU SAIs’ competence in auditing digitalisation and in using digital resources in audits.
President Vesel was thus again invited to actively participate in the event as one of the main speaks. The second part of the meeting was focused on the activities of working groups and on tasks and responsibilities of planned committees, as well as on the classification of activities. Adopted were also some proposals regarding organisation or decisions pertaining to foreseen events as well as other strategic procedural documents. The Court of Audit again pointed out the essence of informal meetings of the heads of the SAIs which, at its last two sessions, proved to be an effective instrument for a more direct flow of information among auditor generals respectively heads of SAIs. This meeting was also an opportunity to arrange other, mostly bilateral agreements on activities among SAIs.
