President of the Court of Audit Tomaž Vesel presented to the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor key findings from the Annual Report 2018 and pointed out the most important data on public finance position in Slovenia.

In their discussion, Mr Vesel explained that the Court of Audit through its audit findings recognised the need for certain legislative amendments. After 25 years of experience and operation, the Court of Audit among others establishes that now is an appropriate time to amend the Court of Audit Act to better adapt to new circumstances and to preserve the efficiency of operations of the state’s supreme audit institution. Mr Pahor was also familiarized with the topics the Court of Audit has been recently focusing on, namely the issues directly linked to sustainable development, such as environment, health, food, as well as the audits relating to systemic changes.
