Cooperation with Supreme Audit Institution of Finland

President of the Court of Audit, Tomaž Vesel attended a bilateral meeting at the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Finland in Helsinki hosted by the Auditor General, Tytti Yli-Viikari and her colleagues.

Slovenian Court of Audit actively cooperates with SAI Finland within the framework of international meetings and shares innovative approaches to implementing its powers and responsibilities. Considering several joint initiatives to the international community, there was a cooperation agreement between SAI Slovenia and SAI Finland signed during the Finnish Auditor General’s visit in Slovenia in 2018. The meeting in Helsinki thus focused on building joint projects and the exchange of relevant practical experience about certain audit topics and measures deriving therefrom. Such detailed insight into the work organisation and processes of both SAIs provides an excellent opportunity for the exchange of good practice and challenges both institutions are faced with. Additionally, a large part of discussions referred to the sustainable development goals, effects and results of audits. Presented was also the method of drawing up a strategy of SAI Finland, which is a topical issue also for the Slovenian Court of Audit.

Furthermore, this meeting opened secondment and practical cooperation, contributing to strengthening of successful cooperation between SAI Finland and SAI Slovenia.
